Jerusalem, 29 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure published fuel consumption data in Israel for 2025, which showed that there have been significant changes in fuel and gas consumption, following the recovery of the economy as a result of the end of the “Iron Swords” War.
Data from the Ministry’s Fuel and Gas Administration shows that the largest increase was recorded in jet fuel (DEL) consumption for civil aviation, where there was an increase of approximately 25% compared to 2024, with a particular increase of approximately 50% in the last quarter of 2025 compared to the same quarter last year – following the increase in the number of international flights during the year and especially in the last few months after the end of the war. However, there is still a decrease in jet fuel consumption for civil aviation of approximately 14% compared to 2023.
Additionally, there was an increase of approximately 3% in diesel consumption for transportation and industry compared to 2024, following the gradual return of evacuated residents in the south and north to their homes and the recovery of the business sector that consumes diesel in heavy transportation and local industry across the country.
Regarding gasoline, there was no change in consumption in 2025 compared to the previous year, due to the transition to electric and hybrid vehicles. However, there was an increase of approximately 4% in gasoline consumption in the last quarter of 2025 compared to the last quarter of 2024, which also indicates the recovery of the economy.
